Frequently Asked Questions

Time Frame | Overnight | Costs | Electricity | Floor Plan | Access | Exclusive Use | Building Condition | Best & Worst Time of Year

What is the length of time you allow for investigations?

Standard investigations usually have 4-6 hours in the building.  You can pick your time frame.

Do you offer overnight investigations?

Yes, you will get use of the building for 12 hours plus 2 hours set-up/tear-down time (i.e. Available at 6 pm on day one - Last one out by 8 am on day two)

What are the costs to Paranormal Investigators for use of the building?

Standard Rates for paranormal groups up to 6 hours are $50 per person. 2 person minimum - 10% discount for 10 persons.

Overnight (12 hour) Rates are $70 per person with a 10 person minimum. Investigators can sleep in the building if desired (bring sleeping bag and air mattress or foam pad - the building has concrete floors on all three levels.

What doe it take to get exclusive use of Ashmore Estates?

To get exclusive use of the building a minimum payment for 10 persons is required. Otherwise we may have others accessing the building for tours or other events during the same time period. We offer tours daily and have them whenever the tour group wants to schedule.  We also work in the building for events we are holding in the future.

Is there electricity in the building?

Yes.  We recommend you bring long extension cords.  Each floor is around 250 feet long.

Would you be able to provide us with a floor plan to enable us to set up our investigation plan ahead of time?

Yes. I have one that is not exactly correct but is the best one available. Some of the areas on the plan did not get built.

Do you have areas that are off limits to investigators.

There are a few off limits rooms because of personal storage.  Arrangements can be made if you so desire to get access to those rooms

What is the condition of the building - is it safe?

The building has concrete floors on all three levels. The roof received damage in 1992 from hail and that damage has not yet been fixed.  We are expecting the new section of the building to get a new roof soon.  There are leaky spots.  When we bought the building there were only 34 pieces of glass that were not broken.  We will be fixing them as time and money allow, but it is a large project.  We consider the building as safe as a building in this condition can be.  We have tried to remove anything that could be a hazard.  Use of the building is at your own risk. All persons who use the building are required to complete a hold harmless agreement prior to using the building to cover us in the event of incident while you are using the building.

What is the best (and worst) time of the year to rent the use of the building?

Anytime that works for your group will usually work for us.  We run a haunted attraction the end of September and the month of October.  We are heavily into construction on the haunt from August thru September.  If you can stay away from those times it probably would offer you greater freedoms in the building as there would not be set construction going on.
